Raised at Huntington Lake is a group of community members with one particular thing in common: A love for Huntington Lake. Originally, we came together simply to celebrate our shared passion. Now, we’ve banded together to help the Huntington community rebuild from the devastating Creek Fire of September 2020. We were raised at the lake. Now, we’re raising it up.

Raised at Huntington Lake began in 2008 as a small Facebook group connecting a few people who had grown up together spending their summers at the lake. The group grew slowly for more than a decade, expanding outside the original group to people from other tracts and frequent visitors, and passing 1,000 members in 2019. When the Creek Fire struck, the group quickly became a place for the community to gather for information and support, and many more people joined to stay in touch with the latest. With the immediate crisis behind us and now more than 3,000 members strong, we’re using the group as a base to marshal the community’s resources behind the recovery, and we’ve expanded outside Facebook to try to reach as many people as possible.
